As the cost of living rises and fresh fruit and vegetables become increasingly expensive, many families are forced to give them up in favor of cheaper, less nutritious food. Shavuot, a harvest festival, highlights the connection between the land and the community, making this our opportunity to ensure that this year, the abundance of Israel’s fields reaches the holiday tables of vulnerable populations. At Leket Israel, we work year-round to rescue surplus fresh, high-quality agricultural produce from farmers across the country and deliver it to thousands of families in need.
