On Shavuot, we celebrate the abundance of Israel’s agricultural produce. But because of the rising cost of living, thousands of people cannot afford fresh fruit and vegetables and rely on us to help fill their tables.
Even on Shavuot, Leket Israel, the National Food Bank, continues its work, delivering fresh, rescued produce to hundreds of thousands of Israelis in need.
“The support from Leket Israel gives me room to breathe. I receive boxes full of excellent fruit and vegetables that I simply cannot afford to buy myself,” says Iris, who receives assistance every week.
Help Leket provide fresh Israeli produce for the holiday tables of families in need.
A donation of $180 will enable Leket Israel to distribute fresh fruit and vegetables to 36 families in need.
(Each box provides approximately 22 lbs. of produce)
23 years of experience supplying food in both routine and emergency situations
Using its infrastructure in the fields to provide the right assistance, and with an immediate response for anyone in need
In routine times, Leket Israel is the largest food rescue organization in Israel, rescuing fresh surplus agricultural produce from farms and packing houses and excess cooked food from hotels, corporate cafeterias and IDF army bases for redistribution through a network of 346 nonprofit organizations feeding 470,000 Israelis in need each week
REACTIONS FROM OUR PARTNERS IN THE FIELD
Thank you, a million times, for the renewable credit cards. Seeing the smile on the faces of all these worried parents brought me great happiness today.
You’ve brought a lot of joy to the people here. Stay strong.
Thank you again for your incredible work. Seeing mothers cry with happiness when they received the renewable card after being told that their refrigerators are empty warms my heart
Loving volunteers from Leket Israel, thank you for your willingness to be there in your modest way. It truly warms my heart.
A week ago, we turned to Leket Israel for help picking persimmons in my father’s farm. He felt so despondent, he almost gave up his livelihood. Leket Israel sent us 170 volunteers who harvested 40 tons in just 4 days. I cannot express the depth of our gratitude. Thank you for your support!
